A group of four dogs mauled a man to death in Jurupa Valley and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the attack Wednesday.

The attack happened Tuesday morning around 7:30. The sheriff’s department received 911 calls about screaming in the area and Riverside County Animal Services officers were dispatched to a property near Bellegrave Avenue and Martin Street, according to media reports.

The man who was attacked was reportedly working at the home for the homeowner when he was attacked by the four dogs, three Belgian Malinois and a cane corso. The dogs were owned by the property owner.

The house was converted into a business property. The property owner was not on the site at the time of the attack, but when he returned, he surrendered the dogs to officials, according to a report from KTLA.

All four dogs were euthanized.

The name of the man who was killed has not been released.

Riverside County Animal Services Director Erin Gettis told KTLA the mauling was “a horrific reminder for dog owners to be vigilant in keeping communities, dogs and people safe.”
