A 40-year-old Ladera Ranch woman made her first appearance in court Friday on charges of embezzling more than $56,000 from an Orange County-based property management company.
Lauren Rodgers Goldman was charged Feb. 15 with five counts of grand theft and a count of making false entries in records or returns, all felonies. Goldman was taken into custody Thursday and made her first appearance in court in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana, where her arraignment was rescheduled for March 22 in the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.
Orange County sheriff’s investigator Daniel Foster said in court papers that a complaint was made in May of 2020 that the money was embezzled from Mooschekian Management.
Goldman was accused of writing 70 fraudulent checks from five separate accounts to embezzle $56,712.13 from Nov. 28, 2017, through March 19, 2020, Foster said.
