A fight in Long Beach Saturday ended with one of the combatants stabbed and on his way to a hospital.
The fight was reported about 2:15 p.m. and officers were summoned to the 2000 block of West Wardlow Road, said Long Beach police Officer Eric Stachura. That is south of the San Diego (405) Freeway, west of Santa Fe Avenue.
“The preliminary investigation indicates that the incident occurred in the 2100 block of Lincoln Street,” Stachura said. The physical altercation involved two men, but it was unclear what they were fighting about.
Long Beach Fire Department paramedics took one of the men to a hospital for treatment of stab wounds to his upper body not believed life-threatening, the officer said. The man was in police custody, as well.
The investigation was ongoing.
