A pedestrian was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the Harbor (110) Freeway in downtown Los Angeles Tuesday.

California Highway Patrol officers were called to the northbound freeway near the Exposition Boulevard exit at 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, where they learned the man attempted to run across the freeway and was struck by at least two and possibly three vehicles, CHP Officer Ramon Kendricks told City News Service.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Debris from the collision was scattered over several lanes of the freeway, the CHP reported.

The CHP pulled over at least three vehicles that might have been involved in the collision — a Dodge Ram, Chevy Tahoe and silver Kia — for questioning.

The CHP closed all lanes of the northbound freeway at Exposition for an unknown duration while officers investigated the collision.
