A 27-year-old woman was fatally hit by a truck Thursday in Malibu.
The crash occurred about 6:30 a.m. and resulted in the closure of Pacific Coast Highway near Busch Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Nicole Valdes-Cortez of Los Angeles was pronounced dead at the scene.
Westbound lanes of PCH were opened about three hours afterward, but eastbound lanes remained closed until shortly before 1 p.m. while an investigation was conducted.
As a result of the fatal collision, the school day for Malibu Middle School and Malibu High School delayed the start of its day until 10:30 a.m., authorities said.
