The Los Angeles City Council on Friday approved a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a bicyclist who fatally shot a 32-year-old man in South Los Angeles four days before Thanksgiving.

The cyclist approached Moses Nelson on Nov. 23 about 9 a.m. as he was walking down E. 57th Street, near Naomi Avenue, police said. The bicyclist shot Nelson several times, then fled.

Nelson died at the scene.
