
The Board of Supervisors agreed Tuesday to offer a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever shot and killed a 35-year-old homeless man near downtown Long Beach.
Supervisor Don Knabe, who recommended the reward, said investigators thought it might prompt witnesses to come forward.

About 11:30 p.m. June 28, Long Beach Police responding to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon found Iran Maese lying face-down and bleeding from the head on a staircase in the back of an apartment complex at 727 Linden Ave.
Maese, who had family in Long Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Several witnesses said they heard the shots, but no one has come forward with a description of the gunman.
Maese was one of at least five people fatally gunned down in Long Beach in June, making it the most violent June in five years, the Long Beach Press- Telegram reported.
