A graduation ceremony was held Friday for 38 new officers who completed their training at the Los Angeles Police Academy.
The Friday morning ceremony was at the facility in the 1800 block of North Academy Drive in Elysian Park, according to the LAPD.
Among those scheduled to be on hand for the graduation, along with the families of the new officers, were LAPD Chief Michel Moore and representatives of the LAPD Board of Police Commissioners and the mayor’s office.
Among the new officers were 29 men and nine women, the LAPD reported. The ethnic breakdown is as follows: Six are white, 24 are Hispanic, five are Black and three are Filipino.
The graduating officers completed 912 hours of training over the course of 24 weeks.
