Nomination papers for two seats on the San Fernando City Council will be available later this month, city officials announced Thursday.
The San Fernando City Council voted Monday to consolidate the city’s municipal election with the 2024 statewide general election on Nov. 5. The local election is being held to elect two council members to serve full four-year terms.
Nomination papers will be available from the City Clerk during the official nomination period, which commences on July 15 and closes on Aug. 9.
If nomination documents for an incumbent council member are not filed by 5 p.m. on Aug. 9, the nomination period will be extended until Aug. 14 for persons other than the incumbent.
Candidates interested in running for the City Council can schedule an appointment to receive information regarding nomination papers by calling the City Clerk at 818-898-1204 beginning July 15, or visit the city’s website at sfcity.org/elections for more information.
