Comin’ atcha, Compton: Dr. Dre’s first rap album in 15 years

Inspired by the documentary “Straight Outta Compton,” pioneering rapper Dr. Dre is releasing his first album in 15 years.

“Compton: The Soundtrack” will be available Aug. 7 on Apple Music — featuring 16 tracks with Dre protégés including Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Xzibit.

Dre said he saw an early version of the film about N.W.A.and as “I was leaving the set… I found myself being so inspired by the movie that I started recording an album. I kept it under wraps.”

Of his possibly last solo record, Dre said: “All my friends came in, and we all came together to build this thing. It’s going to be my grand finale.”

“I’m really proud of this,” he said in a Newsweek report.
