What can “Monuments Men” director, writer and star do for a real-life encore? How about rescuing a shelter dog with a birth defect?
As many outlets reported Wednesday, the 54-year-old actor, born in Kentucky, adopted Nate the terrier from an Ohio shelter — and gave him to his parents, Nick and Nina Clooney in Kentucky.
“When we took Nate to adoption events, people would stare and kids would point,” the group LuvFurMutts said on Facebook. “Several people applied to adopt him, but then said no when they met him. He was with us 9 months. The lowest point came when an adopter cried when she met him and said she would be depressed the rest of her life if she had to look at him every day.”
Nate had a barrel chest, a leg that swayed and walked like a hyena, it was reported.
George Clooney received salutes for his latest dog-loving adventure. In late October, he and his wife, Amal, adopted a 4-year-old basset hound.
