A construction crew began repairing a damaged sidewalk Thursday outside the Hollywood Hills home of retired “The Price Is Right” host Bob Barker, who tripped on the sidewalk in October and suffered cuts to his head.
Barker, 92, took a spill on the sidewalk around 10:30 a.m. Oct. 20. A pair of Los Angeles Police Department officers happened to be in the area and saw Barker fall. They called for an ambulance, and Barker was taken to a hospital suffering from lacerations on his head but not seriously injured.
According to Barker’s publicist, Precision Concrete Cutting is doing the work free of charge.
Barker was on hand to watch the start of the repair work, and he said he was surprised at the amount of attention his fall received.
“If I ever need publicity for something, I’m going to go out here and fall on my face again,” Barker told NBC4. “It worked once. It could work again.”
