
The latest big-screen installment of the “Star Trek” saga was the top-grossing movie in North American theaters this weekend, according to estimated figures released by comScore.
“Star Trek Beyond” took in $59.6 million in its debut weekend in theaters in the United States and Canada.

The animated comedy “The Secret Life Of Pets” took second place with $29.3 million in its third weekend of release.
The horror film “Lights Out,” making its debut in theaters, and “Ghostbusters” tied for third with $21.6 million each.
“Ice Age: Collision Course” was fifth with $21 million.
Rounding out the top 10 were the animated comedy “Finding Dory” with $7.2 million; “The Legend Of Tarzan” with $6.4 million; “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” with $4.4 million; “Kabali” with $4.1 million, and “Hillary’s America” with $3.7 million, according to figures released Sunday.
