Donald Trump was merely a New York real-estate tycoon in 2007, but he foreshadowed his presidential persona when citing his knowledge of good looks and his ownership of the Miss Universe contest when dismissing Angelina Jolie as “not a great beauty.”

In the wake of the movie star’s Brad Pitt divorce, CBS News and other outlets recalled Trump’s take in a Larry King interview on CNN.

“She’s been with so many guys she makes me look like a baby,” Trump told King. “I just don’t even find her attractive.”

The “Today” show site quoted Trump as saying “Angelina Jolie is sort of amazing because everyone thinks she’s like this great beauty. And I’m not saying she’s an unattractive woman, but she’s not a great beauty, by any stretch of the imagination.”

Trump cited his pageant ownership for his beauty expertise.

“I really understand beauty,” he said. “And I will tell you, she’s not — I do own Miss Universe. I do own Miss USA. I mean, I own a lot of different things. I do understand beauty, and she’s not.”

In any case, social media are having a field day over the intersection of Hollywood and politics:
