Carrie Fisher was on a trending high when she declared, via Twitter, that Donald Trump “absolutely” was a “cokehead” — with proof being his Sunday night debate sniffles.
Now the “Star Wars” legend is retreating from the cocaine claim.
Asked Monday night by Vulture whether she thinks Trump is sniffing the white stuff, Fisher replied: “I don’t. I don’t know because every day something weirder comes out about him and more awful.”
Her reasoning cites the death of Trump’s brother Freddy Trump Jr.
“His brother was an alcoholic and died of it. I think it scared him,” she said at the New York Film Festival premiere of “Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.”
“[Trump] says he doesn’t smoke, he doesn’t drink, he doesn’t do drugs, so he generally tells the worst truth to shock you. I know something about this, so if he did coke, he would want you to know.”
Her new theory for sniffles?
“Nerves,” Fisher said as “she took a big sniff and smiled,” Vulture reported.
But Fisher still has fun at the GOP candidate’s expense:
