English Premier League soccer star Romelu Lukaku Bolingoli was cited for excessive noise after officers responded to five noise complaints at a residence where he was temporarily residing, a police lieutenant has disclosed.
Bolingoli, 24, was arrested and released at the scene with the citation at about 8 p.m. last Sunday, Beverly Hills Police Lt. Elisabeth Albanese said.
It wasn’t clear what led to the excessive noise allegation.
He is scheduled to appear Oct. 2 at the Los Angeles Airport Courthouse, Albanese said.
Bolingoli is expected to undergo a medical examination Saturday in Los Angeles as a part $97 million deal that will move the Everton forward — whose 25 goals were the second-highest in the Premier League — to Manchester United, the most successful club in England with a record 20 league titles.
The Los Angeles Galaxy will host Manchester United in a friendly match July 15 at StubHub Center, 18400 S. Avalon Blvd., in Carson.
