If anyone does oppo research of Dwayne Johnson, all they need to do is turn over a rock.

“Good thing we’ve already hit ROCK bottom,” said a Twitter wag.

So begin the puns as the former pro wrestler and movie star known as The Rock becomes “mentioned” for a 2020 White House run. (The hashtag is #TheRock2020.)

The news is that the “Fast and Furious” star, born in Hayward, is named in paperwork filed Sunday with the Federal Election Commission.

“Run the Rock 2020” is the name of the committee backing the 45-year-old movie star with American and Canadian citizenship (via his father).

The world’s highest-paid actor of 2016, he was named the same year by Time as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

The Hill reported: “The paperwork was filed by a man named Kenton Tilford under a West Virginia address. Tilford’s connection to Johnson and his motivation for filing the organization is not clear.

Johnson has long joked about a White House bid, playing a buff Obama on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and standing in front of podium labeled ‘The Rock Johnson 2020’ on the show in May. But he revealed earlier this year that his run is ‘a real possibility.’”

The Rock’s reaction to all this? His Twitter feed was quiet. But noisy elsewhere:
