Country guitarist Keeter for gun control? Here’s what other Calebs say
Country-western guitarist Caleb Keeter was relatively unknown until he changed his tune on gun control.
Now he’s being quoted everywhere for turning against the unfettered right to bear arms, saying on Twitter: “I’ve been a proponent of the 2nd Amendment my whole life. Until the events of last night. I cannot express how wrong I was.”
He was in Las Vegas, playing with the Josh Abbott Band hours before Jason Aldean’s set saw a massacre.
“Enough is enough,” Keeter said. “We need gun control RIGHT. NOW.”
You are all absolutely correct. I saw this happening for years and did nothing. But I'd like to do what I can now. https://t.co/5mYA7D90X3

But he isn’t the only Caleb with a comment.
More than two dozen other Calebs piped in.
Opinion | I used to think gun control was the answer. My research told me otherwise. https://t.co/0WzSTMIlUx

2,996 people passed away on 9/11/01 and not a single gun was fired. It's not a gun issue, it's a hate issue

Gun control can’t stop criminals

If he only had one gun I would agree. But not one damn person needs that many guns. Not. One. Single. Person.

My political post this week and I'm not gonna answer anyone: I believe in 2nd Amendment, I believe in gun rights (1/2)

You up, @GOP?
Yeah, I can't sleep either. Thinking about gun control. You?
No, I won't come over. Take me to dinner first.

I'm looking forward to the day I become a NRA member in the next few weeks. No blood on my hands, just a responsible gun owner.

People confuse "gun control" with "gun removal". So what if it takes me a bit longer to purchase a weapon, if it helps save lives, so be it.

Cain killed able with a rock. Don't blame the gun

You can’t pass any law that makes people have morales and principles. It’s a societal problem not a gun problem #VegasStrong 🇺🇸

It's not about gun control, people and evil will always find a way. How about stop taking god out of the children's life's. God is love

Look at gun control here vs. any other country in the world and while you're at it, look at the mass shootings here vs. any other country

"MY gun isn't dangerous" okay so then, it's a toy, and trading a TOY for HUMAN LIVES is the easiest decision it is possible to make

What happened in Vegas should not be the norm in America. Action must be taken now to reduce the epidemic of gun violence in our country.

The people who are calling for gun control are the same ones who wish to violently overthrow our government.

i will never comprehend the idea that owning a machine gun, made for mass murder, will be allowed. there is no need for these guns

That's like saying we should ban knifes. Knifes can be used to kill just as much as guns can. Anything can be a weapon. I understand what you're trying to say but it's all about who has them. A knife from 10 feet will beat a gun 9 times out of 10.
— Caleb Arnett (@Caleb21211) October 2, 2017
Yeah let's ban guns and make them harder to get because criminals really care about the laws.

Why do y’all care so much about having guns/easy access to them? It’s almost like y’all just wanna kill people? Or have the option??
