Well, if someone can make a live-action movie of “SpongeBob SquarePants, what’s the harm of “Dora the Explorer”?

“Nick Stoller, the writer-director behind films including ‘The Muppets’ and ‘Neighbors,’ has been brought on board to work on the script for the project, which will be produced by Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller,” The Hollywood Reporter says of “Dora” the live-action movie.

Details are secret, THR says, “but the live-action take is said to center on Dora, not as a 7-year-old like on the TV series but now a teenager who moves to the city to live with her cousin Diego.”

The studio is “gung ho” on turning the long-running Nickelodeon cartoon into a film coming out in 2019, THR said. (The show last aired June 5, 2014, after eight seasons and 172 episodes.)

Michael Bay came in for the most Twitter-bashing.
