Charles Roven, a producer on various DC Universe superhero films including the blockbusters “Wonder Woman” and “The Dark Knight” trilogy, will receive the Producers Guild of America’s David O. Selznick Achievement Award, the guild announced Tuesday.
The award recognizes a producer’s “outstanding body of work in motion pictures.” Previous recipients include Irwin Winkler, Clint Eastwood, Stanley Kramer, Billy Wilder, Steven Spielberg, Laura Ziskin and Jerry Bruckheimer.
“Chuck Roven is a producer’s producer,” PGA Awards chairs Donald De Line and Amy Pascal said in a joint statement. “Whether he’s working with fiercely independent voices or within the heart of the studio system, Chuck brings a seriousness of craft and an incredible instinct for story to every set he runs.”
Roven earned an Oscar nomination as a producer of best-picture nominee “American Hustle,” and he is a producer on the upcoming anticipated- blockbuster “Justice League.”
He was a producer on director Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy of films, and also produced “Suicide Squad,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Twelve Monkeys,” “City of Angels” and “Get Smart.”
Roven will receive the honor during the PGA Awards ceremony Jan. 20 at the Beverly Hilton.
