The Golden Mikes are presented annually by the RTNA, the non-profit group representing broadcast newsrooms in Los Angeles, San Diego and all of the other broadcast markets from Fresno south to the Mexican border.

The RTNA coordinates pool coverage of major events, fights for the rights of broadcasters to have access to courtrooms and provides scholarships for the next generation of broadcast journalists.
