A 53-year-old man suspected of burglarizing residences in Garden Grove is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.

Garden Grove Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 10000 block of Trask Avenue at about 2 p.m. Monday on reports of a burglary in progress, Lt. Mario Martinez said. The callers reported they were locked inside their bedroom when the suspect broke in.

The suspect had fled by the time officers arrived, though they were able to obtain surveillance images of him, Martinez said.

Officers were dispatched to a residence located in the 11500 block of Daniel Street at about noon on Tuesday on reports of a burglary in progress, Martinez said. The victims were not at the house at the time of the report, but observed the suspect on surveillance footage.

The suspect again fled before officers arrived at the scene, Martinez said. Investigators were able to determine using surveillance footage that the suspect was also responsible for the burglary on Trask Avenue.

GGPD detectives located the suspect — identified as Marcos Dejesus — in the 8000 block of Third Street in Paramount and took him into custody Wednesday without further incident, Martinez said.

Dejesus was booked at the Orange County Jail for the burglaries committed in Garden Grove and several outstanding burglary warrants.

His bail was set at $280,000.
