PBS member station KCET topped the 73rd Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards with nine wins, followed by Spanish-language KVEA and Spectrum SportsNet with six each and ABC7 with four.

LA CityView Media Group Channel 35 was honored with the Governors Award for its history of service and wide-ranging news coverage, including “vital, lifesaving COVID-19 coverage and updates for Angelenos.”

Channel 35 is the only media outlet that broadcasts from inside Los Angeles City Hall and became the city’s first-ever 24-hour municipal cable channel in 1989.

Saturday’s ceremony was held on the plaza of the Television Academy headquarters in the North Hollywood Arts District. It was the organization’s first in-person event since COVID-19 restrictions were instituted in March 2020.
