For people dreaming of hitting the lottery or enjoying the finest things in life, the giant yacht anchored just north of the Marina del Rey main channel Thursday provides a good but distant look at how the other half lives — even if that other half is made up of only a small number of billionaires.

The roughly 330-foot yacht Attessa, owned by billionaire industrialist Dennis Washington, motored into the area Wednesday night and sat anchored about a quarter-mile offshore, giving beachgoers a glimpse of something they’ll probably never be able to afford.

The vessel has an estimated worth of $150 million. It includes a helicopter, 14 guest cabins and 10 crew cabins, along with a full swimming pool and a sky lounge with a glass bar, among its litany of luxuries.

It was originally built in the late 1990s for the chairman of Evergreen Shipping Lines, but Washington purchased it in 2007 and the ship underwent a nearly four-year overhaul.

According to various publications, Washington — a prominent philanthropist and owner of the Washington Cos. — has a net worth of about $6 billion, and the Attessa is one of his three yachts. Previous yachts owned by Washington were used in the 1987 film “Overboard” starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn and in the 1993 Robert Redford-Demi Moore film “Indecent Proposal.” It wasn’t immediately known if this in has ever been ready for its camera close-up.
