Santa Claus

Santa Claus will be driving a postal truck instead of a sleigh Wednesday as he delivers more than 2,000 toys to a child welfare office to be handed out to foster children this holiday season.

The big man in the red suit will lead a motorcade of 20 U.S. Postal Service trucks making a special holiday delivery in a tradition established 20 years ago.

Social workers are set to meet the train of toys — all specially requested and purchased by postal workers with their own money — at the Van Nuys office of the Department of Children and Family Services.

After the trucks are unloaded, the postal employees will be treated to a brunch.
