Better leave for LAX plenty early for the next couple weeks as a stretch of Century Boulevard just east of Los Angeles International Airport may be jammed as it’ll be closed overnight starting Monday for construction of a light-rail station at Aviation Boulevard.
Crews working on the station will be removing the “falsework” framing that was used for the project.
Beginning Monday night and continuing through Friday, all westbound lanes of Century Boulevard will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Aviation Boulevard and Bellanca Avenue, according to Los Angeles World Airports. One lane on the eastbound side will also be closed.

Beginning April 10, the work will shift to the other side of the road, with all eastbound lanes and one westbound lane closed for five consecutive nights.
Travelers heading for LAX during the impacted hours are urged to allow extra travel time and seek out alternate routes. During the westbound closure, motorists can turn north on La Cienega Boulevard from Century, then west on Arbor Vitae Street and south on Airport Boulevard back to Century.
During the eastbound closure, motorists can take the same detour in reverse.
