The driver of a car that went over a road in the Beverly Crest neighborhood of Los Angeles was located and rescued by firefighters Thursday morning.
Crews responded at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday to 8800 W. Mulholland Drive and located a vehicle over 400 feet down the hillside in thick brush with no one inside and began a search of the area, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The man was located just after midnight and was able to walk, but the circumstances under which he ended up in that location were unknown, Stewart said. It does not appear he was ejected from the vehicle.
Firefighters deployed a rope system and basket to bring the man to safety at 12:45 a.m., Stewart said.
He was transported to a hospital in unknown condition.
