Up to eight people were taken to hospitals with minor symptoms after they were exposed to an unknown white powder in Sun Valley, authorities said Tuesday.
The hazardous materials incident was reported just after 10 p.m. Monday at 7817 North Lankershim Blvd., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange said.
“Hazmat teams responded to ensure no widespread hazard existed,” Prange said. “The incident was isolated to a small area, and there is no public health danger related to this incident.”
No further information was available, he said, including the nature of the patients’ symptoms and the name of the white powder.
