A 46-year-old woman was seriously injured Thursday after falling from a bridge into a dry portion of the Pacoima Wash, and witnesses say she jumped.
The woman fell 40 feet from the bridge in the 12400 block of West Tibbetts Street in Sylmar about 2:40 p.m., according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters retrieved her using a litter-basket.
The woman was conscious while paramedics took her to a trauma center, Prange said.
Her condition was considered to be serious, he said.
