A Silver Alert is in effect Wednesday for a 79-year-old man who suffers from dementia, diabetes and high blood sugar and went missing in Lancaster.
Parviz “Pica” Bompouri Sistani was last seen Tuesday about 8:35 a.m. near 15th Street West and West Avenue J, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Sistani is described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown eyes, slicked back salt-and-pepper hair, a full beard and mustache, the sheriff’s department reported.
Sistani was last seen wearing a tan button up shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes.
Anyone with information about Sistani’s whereabouts was encouraged to call the sheriff’s department’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500.
The Silver Alert program was established to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearance of elderly, developmentally disabled and cognitively impaired individuals, according to the California Highway Patrol.
