Smoke coming from a commercial building in San Fernando Monday evening was determined to have been caused by a faulty piece of equipment and its ducting, authorities said.
Firefighters responded to 1530 First St., between Hubbard Street and Maclay Avenue, at 9:43 p.m. and found smoke coming from the one-story commercial building, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A total of 32 firefighters quickly eliminated the heat and source of smoke in 20 minutes and an investigation determined the fire did not spread through ducting in other parts of the building, Prange said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
