The Los Angeles Fire Department has sent a strike team of firefighters to Lassen County in Northern California to help battle a 2,500-acre brush fire, authorities said Tuesday.
The strike team — five fire engines and their crews, along with a battalion chief — will assist in battling the Gold Fire, which began burning on Monday and is 0% contained, said Margaret Stewart of the LAFD.
The firefighting effort is under the command of Cal Fire. Updates can be found at www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/#GoldFire.
