There was no immediate word on what sparked the fire, which was reported late Friday morning near the 35300 block of West Lancaster Road.

Firefighters stopped the forward spread about 12:30 p.m., and about three hours later, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported the blaze was held to 13 1/2 acres.
