Missing Woodland Hills Woman Found Safe in Zion National Park

A Woodland Hills woman who was missing for nearly two weeks was found safe Sunday by search and rescue teams in Zion National Park, a National Parks spokeswoman said.

Rangers said they had received a credible tip from a park visitor that 38-year-old Holly Suzanne Courtier was seen in the park, National Parks spokeswoman Amanda Rowland announced.

Courtier had been last seen at about 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 6, according to Rowland. She was dropped off by a private shuttle bus at the Grotto park area within Zion National Park and was scheduled to be picked back up by a shuttle bus, but never returned. It’s unclear why she never returned to catch her bus.

The family issued a statement that read, “We are overjoyed that she was found safely today. We would like to thank the rangers and search teams who relentlessly looked for her day and night and never gave up hope. We are also grateful to the countless volunteers who were generous with their time, resources and support. This wouldn’t have been possible without the network of people who came together.”

Courtier is an avid hiker who has visited Zion several times before, her daughter Kailey Chambers told CBS2.

“I know she would not give up on me, so I refuse to give up on her,” Chambers said last week.
