A multi-vehicle crash involving motorcycles and other vehicles that occurred on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Van Nuys left at least two people seriously hurt and all northbound lanes temporarily blocked, according to authorities.
The crash happened on the 405 at Sherman Way about 6:10 p.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.
It involved two motorcycles and at least two other vehicles, the CHP reported.

The crash left at least two people trapped in the wreckage and one motorcyclist down on the road, the CHP reported.
At least two people were seriously hurt and transported to a hospital by paramedics, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said. Their genders and current conditions were not immediately available.
There was no information regarding other injuries at this point.
The crash shut down all northbound lanes, the CHP reported. All lanes were cleared and the SigAlert was canceled at 8:44 p.m.
