Firefighters knocked down a house fire and nearby vehicle that threatened a two-story fourplex in the East Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The blaze inside the house at 1341 N. Mariposa Ave. was reported at 6:40 p.m., said Los Angeles fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
The department sent 65 firefighters to the scene and extinguished the flames in under 25 minutes, Stewart said.
Firefighters also managed to protect the two-story fourplex that was exposed to the fire. That building did suffer some residual smoke damage, she said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remained under investigation, Stewart said.
