A vehicle crashed into an apartment building in Pomona Tuesday, injuring one trapped person as a natural gas leak endangered residents who were immediately evacuated.
The crash was reported about 8:45 a.m. in the 1600 block of South Garey Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The injured person, who was freed from the vehicle by firefighters, was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, the fire department reported.
Utility crews were sent to repair the natural gas leak, and about two dozen people were evacuated from the building as a precaution, the fire department reported.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
