A man, described by fire officials as elderly, escaped injury Saturday when the vehicle he was in went over the side of the road in the Beverly Crest community of Los Angeles.
Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the crash scene in the 8900 block of West Mulholland Drive at 12:53 p.m., said Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“Firefighters and paramedics located the driver in a remote area away from the vehicle,” Prange said. “The elderly male patient is unable to make it up the steep grade to road level. He does not appear to be injured.”
He was hoisted from the scene by a helicopter and transported to an area fire station, where he would be medically evaluated, Prange said.
