Four people were killed and another person was wounded in a shooting Sunday morning at a house party in Inglewood, authorities said.

Firefighters and paramedics were sent to the 1300 block of Park Avenue at 1:43 a.m., according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher.

Three people were pronounced dead at the scene, he said, and paramedics rushed two others to a hospital.

Multiple media outlets, citing Inglewood Mayor James Butts, said one of the wounded later died at the hospital.

Two of the victims who died were reportedly female.

Butts said there were multiple shooters, at least one of whom used an assault weapon.

“These are sociopathic killers that have to be sequestered from society,” the mayor said at a morning news conference.

No suspect descriptions were immediately available.

A watch commander at the Inglewood Police Department could not be reached for immediate comment.
