A 43-year-old man found dead in Palmdale was identified Monday.

He was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Danny Polk, whose cause of death was neither confirmed nor released.

Deputies responded at 9 p.m. Saturday to the 500 block of East Palmdale Boulevard, where the man was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. They later learned the man sustained multiple stab wounds.

A videographer at the scene said the man was found down on the pavement, bleeding profusely, after being struck by a vehicle following the initial stabbing.

The motorist remained at the scene, according to the witness.

The initial stabbing appeared to have occurred in the alley of a now-defunct Marias’ Horseshoe Bar in the 38400 block of Sixth Street East, the witness added.
