A Santa Ana woman was behind bars Wednesday on suspicion of hurling bottles at a Buddhist temple on eight to 12 occasions since mid-December.

Trang Thu Pham, 45, was arrested Tuesday and booked on suspicion of felony vandalism of a place of worship, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.

A security guard at a CVS store on Harbor Boulevard recognized the woman from news reports last week that featured surveillance video of the vandalism, Bertagna said. Police arrested Pham at the store, he said.

Pham allegedly told police she threw the bottles at the Hong Tich Buddhist Temple in the 4800 block of Fifth Street because she had a personal dispute with someone associated with the temple, not because of the religion, Bertagna said.
