Three suspects were arrested Thursday just hours after a home-invasion robbery of an 80-year-old woman in Tustin.

Police were called around 12:30 p.m. about the robbery in the 14600 block of Peppertree Circle.

The victim said she heard her doorbell ring, but did not answer it, according to Tustin police Lt. Robert Wright. Moments later, she saw a suspect in her home, and the intruder ordered her into another room where another robber was standing, Wright said. The victim was tied up while the thieves rummaged through her belongings and ultimately stole her tan Lexus, Wright said.

The suspects fled the Lexus, and police were also looking for a dark-colored SUV that may have been involved in the crime, Wright said.

The woman sustained minor injuries from being tied up, Wright said.

This afternoon, Los Angeles police contacted Tustin officers to say they spotted the victim’s stolen vehicle and had three suspects in custody, Wright said.

It appeared the robbers pried open a sliding door in the victim’s home, Wright said.
