A teen was injured in an explosion in an Anaheim home Tuesday afternoon, and investigators suspect an e-cigarette may be the culprit.

The explosion happened just before 3 p.m. in the 700 block of South Quail Circle, according to Anaheim police Lt. Bob Dunn.

Before police and paramedics could get to the home, the 17-year-old boy was on the way to a hospital on his own, Dunn said. He was holding an e-cigarette at the time of the explosion, the lieutenant said.

No one else was injured in the blast, Dunn said.
