Santa Ana police Tuesday were looking for two males involved in what appears to be a random act of violence in the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man.

Kevin Jacobo of Santa Ana was in his car with his girlfriend about 2:12 a.m. on Sunday at a stop sign at Harvard Street and Glenwood Place when he was shot, Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said. The girlfriend escaped injury, Bertagna added.

Gunshots rang out from another car — possibly a white, two-door Honda — with two men in it, Bertagna said. Jacobo was pronounced dead at 9:04 a.m. Sunday at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange.

The victim had no known ties to gangs “whatsoever,” Bertagna said. “So at this point we don’t know if he was the intended target or just a victim of random violence.”
