Courtney Charell Amos, 26, of Pittsburg in Northern California also received a five-year prison sentence that was stayed pending completion of five years of probation, according to Roxi Fyad of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Prosecutors said Amos stole a vehicle from a family member of the victim on Oct. 9 in Stockton, replaced the license plates and drove with the victim to Orange County. She then conspired to pander the victim to engage in commercial sex acts to pay for food, lodging and gas, Fyad said.
“In the early morning hours on Oct. 18 … Amos argued inside the stolen vehicle with Jane Doe in Santa Ana near an area know for prostitution and human trafficking,” Fyad said.
A witness called Santa Ana police and officers arrested Amos, Fyad said.
Amos also pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of driving with a suspended license and using the fraudulent plates, Fyad said.
