Police Saturday were seeking to identify two of three men who dropped an unconscious 24-year-old woman in the lobby of Huntington Beach Hospital, where she died a week later of a drug overdose.
The woman, identified by the coroner as Jessica Doody, was left at the hospital just after midnight on March 31, Huntington Beach Police reported.
“The men immediately fled without identifying themselves or the victim, who subsequently passed away from a possible drug overdose,” according to a police statement.
Doody, a resident of Huntington Beach, died at about 1:30 p.m. on April 7, according to the Orange County coroner’s office.
The cause of death was determined to be an overdose of benzodiazepine, amphetamines and opiates, Supervising Deputy Coroner Larry Esslinger said.
One of the men has been identified, but not the other two, who investigators want to locate and interview.
Images of the men were posted to the Huntington Beach Police Department’s Facebook account.
Anyone with information that could help identify the two men was urged to call the Huntington Beach police Information Hotline at (714) 375-5066.
