Do you know any child who may have been a sex assault victim of a 63-year-old suspect at a Santa Ana daycare center?
Police Saturday were trying to determine if there are any additional victims — in addition to three young girls — who may have been assaulted by the suspect who lives at a residence that was also a Santa Ana daycare center.
He lives there because his sister owns the business, and she was the one who alerted police after learning of the alleged attacks.
Police say the assaults occurred at Anne’s Daycare, located in the 21-hundred block of South Cedar Street.
Suspect Larry Montanez lived at the daycare center from 2001 through 2008 and 2010 through this year. He was arrested this week over alleged assaults of the three girls, all of whom are under 10. Santa Ana Police said the assaults began in 2013.
The most recent attack that triggered the police probe and arrest took place Tuesday with a six-year-old girl, according to officers. Another child saw the assault and encouraged the victim to report the incident.
Apparently the children told the owner of the daycare center, Montanez’ sister, who immediately alerted police.
Anyone aware of suspicious or criminal behavior committed by Montanez was urged to contact Santa Ana Police Department special crimes detectives at (714) 245-8351.
