The Coroner’s Office Saturday released the name of a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a motorist’s vehicle in Garden Grove.

The pedestrian was killed Thursday and was publicly identified Saturday as Duc Thai, 51, of Garden Grove, according to the coroner’s office.

The crash was reported at 7:04 p.m Thursday in the 9800 block of Trask Avenue, just west of Brookhurst Street, according to the Garden Grove Police Department.

Paramedics rushed Thai to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he pronounced dead at 9:21 p.m. Thursday, according to the coroner’s office.

The driver remained at the scene of the crash and cooperated with the investigation, police said. It was not immediately known if he was cited or arrested.
