Authorities said Thursday they have located a vehicle and a person of interest in connection with a Laguna Niguel hit-and-run on Super Bowl Sunday that left a bicyclist injured, but they are still seeking witnesses.

The collision occurred about 9 p.m. Sunday at Ridgeway and Niguel Road, said Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Stichter.

Investigators found the vehicle involved in the collision in Laguna Niguel, the lieutenant said.

“A person of interest — an adult male — has also been identified and located,” Stichter said. “No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.”

Stichter said the announcement regarding the vehicle and the person of interest was made to alert the public that authorities are now only seeking possible witnesses to the collision.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash was urged to call Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
