Dead woman’s killer called cops? ‘Person of interest’ tells police he ‘hurt’ Tustin apartment victim
A woman was found strangled in her Tustin apartment Thursday after her husband or live-in romantic partner — who was later arrested — called 911 to report that he had “hurt” someone, police said.
Officers went to the apartment complex in the 15700 block of Tustin Village Way in response to the man’s 9:30 a.m. call, according to Tustin police Lt. Bob Wright.
“As (officers) walked up to the apartment, he comes out and he has minor injuries to the arms,” Wright said. “We go inside and find this female deceased inside the apartment.”
Police withheld the victim’s name because they were still trying to notify all of her family members, Wright said. The name of the suspect also was not immediately released.
Both were believed to be in their early 30s, he said.
The man was under police guard at an area hospital, Wright said.
According to broadcast reports, the couple lived in the unit with their two young sons and rented a room to two other adults, all of whom were home when police arrived.
